companionable art by sans sens studio

php 400/ 16 x 18 inches

our textile wrap yields, almost formless. it nudges toward openness and asks: can you leave prescription outside its edges?

this collaboration with artist/ graphic designer kris kala of sans sens studio presents new original artwork for every collection and expands into a larger visual narrative about the coffees we source.

for the midcanopy collection, his design traces the quiet movement between soil and atmosphere, flowing lines and gathered ink evoking that strata where hidden life persists, just as alive in the in-between spaces as in the seen and the solid.

we wanted your first encounter with our studio experiences to feel like a broader personal ritual; a small ceremony of orientation at the start of a new journey. even the oft-overlooked packaging can serve as metaphor where the invitation begins before the beverage settles in the cup.

each piece was silkscreened by hocus manila using water-based ink on 100% natural cotton linen fabric.

what we include, and why

sieve collections are designed with care, for both your experience and a broader ecology: to preserve quality, our coffees are sealed in foil bags with a breathable fabric film rather than the plastic escape valve.

each coffee includes a postcard about the coffees and its own set of reusable sensory echoes cards (three cards per coffee); all these elements are held together by a collectible textile wrap with original artwork from
sans ens studio, silkscreened by hocus manila.

we wrote an
ode to the often overlooked packaging to describe our design intentions and how you can engage with each element that's included with our coffees

when do we ship

your order total is inclusive of shipping fees from our mindanao studio to anywhere in the philippines.

each coffee is roasted once an order is placed, following our roasting schedule.

we ship orders from our studio in mindanao twice a week: every tuesday and saturday. shipment takes at least four days to reach any destination in the philippines from our location in cagayan de oro. once your order is on its way, you’ll receive an email with an airwaybill tracking number, from then you can follow the delivery progress on your own.

our roasting practice

roasting, for us, is an exploratory practice, a way to understand the coffee more deeply and let its own qualities lead the way. our roast profiles are guided by the coffees themselves, interpreted through the lens of each collection’s shared thread to offer an honest and personal expression of the cup.

for our midcanopy collection, the roast encourages the coffees to sit at a quieter register, a liminal space where unfolding can happen gently.

each coffee is roasted fresh upon ordering and our roasts benefit from some rest, often 7–10 days after roasting, this supports its personality to settle and slowly open. some cups, of course, bloom beautifully even before then; feel welcome to try them earlier.

our naturals may show gentle variation in roasted bean color, as most naturals do.

we’ve asked some friends to share their brewing recipes for these coffees and you can find them gathered in a brewing suggestions list here.

still curious about something?feel welcome to reach out to thestudio@sieve.coffee, and we’ll respond within a day or two.
